Birthday Overload..

Morning ladies.

How are you all? : )

I've had such a busy couple of days, with all the birthdays I mentioned in my previous post, I'm surprised I actually emerged from the amount of wrapping paper that was covering my bedroom floor & myself..

Anyway, I wanted to show you what I bought for Gordon. My Dad got his present about a month ago, his phone died, so I got him a new one & gave it to him then & my Nan absolutely loves lavender, so I got her some lavender bubble bath & a little antique hat for her collection. Not very interesting things to show you, but here's Gordon's watch I got him:

So pleased with it. : )

Ahhh & I just have to show you his cake:

As you all probably know, (the amount I chat on about him..) he's at uni at the moment & he has a placement year starting in July, so he's obviously been going to lots of job interviews over the past couple of months. He managed to get a job working with Microsoft & Xbox, hence the cake theme. I have a very happy boyfriend at the moment. ; )

Oh.. & one for the 'awwwwh factor'..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE. ♥

MUA 3 In 1 Extreme Contour Liner

I picked up these two products about a month ago but just forgot to blog about them. Silly me. They are two new items from the MUA collection. They come in 8 different shades, retailing at £1.50 each, you can see all the shades & buy them here.

I was lucky enough to find them when there was an offer on in Superdrug; buy any MUA product & get one Contour Liner free. (My friend also bought an MUA item but didn't want her liner so I had it) Yay. : )

Unfortunately lots of other people had already notice this offer & there wasn't much choice left, but I settled for these two shades, Smoked Plum & Gun Metal. (Shade 6 & 8)

The Smoked Plum comes out in a dark purple shade, perfect to add a pop of colour to your everyday look. The Gun Metal is more a dark silver shade, perfect for using with a smokey eye for a night out.

These products are designed with a pointed nib, allowing you to create a thin or thick line, either below or on your eyelid. I only occasionally use eye liner & always go for under my eye, so I tend to use the thinnest part of the nib.

Smoked Plum: (used)

Gun Metal: (haven't used)

What I love about this product is how easy it applies. The nib is so soft & pigmented, it just glides onto your skin. I have tried the Smoked Plum as a eyeshadow on the outer corners of my eyelids, but without a primer, it will crease within half an hour. Not a good look. Always use a primer if your going to use it as an eyeshadow.

Have you tried this product? Any other shades you'd recommend?

This is such a busy weekend! It's my Nan's birthday today & Gordon's & my Dad's tomorrow. I went to Gordon's last night & now won't see him for a month. Feels like ages.. I'll hopefully post what I bought him in the next couple of days so you can see, so pleased with it. : ) Hope you're all well girls!

Sarah's 21st - Fancy Dress

Isn't it awful when you go into your inbox & find about 50 e-mails saying '... has tagged you in a photo'. Then the next 50 saying '... has commented on a photo you are tagged in'. This can only mean one thing.. there are alot of embarrassing photos now added to the collection on your Facebook. Joy.

After sifting through the entire folder, here are a few I deem respectable for my blog. (Notice there aren't many..)

Myself & Sarah

My tea ladies. ; )

Jack, Campbell & myself. Jack is the cutest thing ever in a zebra outfit.

Lauren, Emz & Myself

Bo, Boop & Myself

Please excuse my fringe & my general appearance.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH. : )

Deciding What To Give Up For Lent Is Like Deciding What Topping To Put On Your Pancake..

..impossibly hard.

I only started doing Lent a couple of years ago, just to test myself & see if I could actually give up something for 40 days. I am hopeless at sticking to one thing, I have no will power at all. I don't even bother with New Year Resolutions.

Past Lents have included:

- Alcohol (failed)
- Tea (failed)
- Chocolate (passed surprisingly!)

I gave up chocolate last year & it was so hard. It was weird though, I'd go to eat something, get it 5 inches from my mouth & suddenly realise it was chocolate & scream 'AHHH WHY AM I TRYING TO EAT THIS!?' It's strange you don't even notice you're about to break Lent until you actually do.

So.. what to give up this year? I thought about chocolate again but then thought 'why would I want to put myself through that torture all over again!?' So.. this year I'm giving up shopping. Yes, that's right. No new clothes / accessories / make-up for me. Some of you might be thinking 'What.. that's easy..' For me? Not so much..

Obviously I have my Dad's, Nan's & Gordon's birthdays next weekend & my best friend's in March, so I'm allowed to buy gifts for them, but nothing for myself.

Are you giving up anything this year?

Recent Charity Shop Finds

I absolutely love going into a shop & finding something so perfect that you'd never expect to find. Well, last week I was luscy enough to find two amazingly perfect items. I mentioned on Twitter I went shopping with my gorgeous girl Lorna last week & this is what we found.

Firstly, this gorgeous painting:

& secondly this beautiful hand-made house. I'm not sure what it was designed for as the roof opens up - but I think I'm going to use it as storage for some of my rings. It has a wind up turner on the bottom - so when its wound up, it plays music & the little wheel on the side turns. So adorable.

The little painting only cost me 99p & the house was £1.99. Can't believe how you can find such treasures in charity shops. Have you ever found anything like these before?

Pink Glitter - You Can Never Have Too Much

Right, this is a marmite post. Fo'sho.

I adore these shoes, some of my friends (& other girls) stare at me like I've gone mad when I wear them. Others just shower them with compliments. I love how everyone has different styles, but don't you hate it when you wear something a little more 'out there' & get the worst evils from girls ever?

Anyway, what do you think? (I totally understand this won't be everyones cup of tea..)

I got them in New Look for £12. (half price in the sale) My friend Elisa picked them up, showed me & I just had to have them. : D

Sarah's fancy dress tonight, I'm so excited! Haven't properly been out since my birthday weekend last month so craving a good giggle with everyone & a hell of a lot of photos. : D Hope you all have a fab weekend! The charity shop buys will be in a post on Monday, I know alot of you wanted to see what I bought. : )

Update #7

Hi ladies!

It's been such a long time since I've done a post that hasn't been scheduled. How sad. : /
So I think a little update is in order. : )

Last week we had new windows fitted in every room of our house, it was so cold (snowing at the time) & I obviously couldn't turn on the heating as it just went straight out the windows, so I was out basically every day! Went to Brighton last Thursday to rescue my friend's abandoned shoe. He went bowling & they managed to give him someone elses shoe. Weird huh? Anyway, we got it back, had a Nandos & a wander round the shops. It was freezing so we didn't even attempt the pier.

Saw Lorna on Friday & we did our annual charity shop round. I found the two cutest items. If you follow me on Twitter, you'll already know how amazing they are! Not clothes I'm afraid, but the cutest little antiques ever! I'll be posting about them in a couple of days no doubt. I think they deserve their own post. : )

Going to my best friend's fancy dress party this Saturday. Kinda improvising as this month is quite tight money wise, so I'm re-using an outfit (cheating but still). Hopefully I'll be able to take lots of pictures of everyone. There isn't a specific theme so it's going to be amazing to see all the different costumes. Make sure you check out that post & you'll see my outfit choice. ; )

Hope you're all well girls. I'm trying my best to keep on top of commenting on all the blogs I follow but it takes forever! If you haven't heard from me in a while, I am still reading them don't worry. : D

Flower Pearls

I've been wanting to show you this gorgeous necklace I got for my birthday for ages. It's very special you see. Not only did one of my best girls take the time to make this, she also bought me some other gorgeous presents as well! I've already introduced her on here before many a time, she's guest posted for me as well, when I was on holiday last year & on my birthday last month. If you don't already know her, go check out Emily's blog, Design & Nonsense.

So here's my beautiful birthday present:

Isn't it amazing? : D

Thankyou so much Emz. : ) xxx

Free Deer Ring?!

Yes.. that's right.. I got a free ring.. from a shop?!

Let me explain..

I went shopping with Cathy last Saturday & we popped into New Look. I was scanning the sale section when I saw this gorgeous ring, but it had no price tag or anything on it. I took it to the counter & asked how much it was, the girl took it to her manager & she didn't recongise it as one of their items so said I could have it for free. How awesome it that?!

I obviously had to have it, being a deer ring it was hard for me to resist. (If you read my blog you know deer are a huge part of my wardrobe, example here.)

So if any of you have this ring.. I'd be interested to know where you got it from & how much it was! Haha! : D

Valentines Day Feat. Chocolate Hearts

Hey y'all, how is everyone? I'm back from Leicester now, had a fab time with the boy. : )

Another Valentines post for you today, all about making these, chocolate hearts.

Now I know not all of you are in a relationship, but apart from making these for the boy at Valentines, I'm making these for all my friends too.

They are so cute & easy to do. Perfect present idea.

What you will need:

- 2 bars of chocolate (one milk & one white)

- A mould of some sort. (Obviously it does really need to be heart shaped to keep with the Valentines theme. I got mine from The Works for 99p) You could alternatively use a ice cube tray.

- A saucepan
- A bowl (heatproof)
- A spoon

Extras:
- Sprinkles

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step one: Place your chocolate into a heat proof bowl & melt it over a saucepan of boiling water. Remember to stir the chocolate so it doesn't burn & stick to the bottom of the pan.

Step two: Once the chocolate has completely melted, start pouring it into your mould. Remember to put some sprinkles into the bottom of the moulds if you want the chocolate decorated on the top when they have set.

Once completed, your tray should look like this:

Step three: Pop them into the fridge to set.

Step four: Very important, don't forget to lick the bowl..

Step five: Make sure the chocolate has completely set & take them out the fridge. Place into a box or jar, add a ribbon & you're all set for Valentines!

Happy cooking!
