I saw one of these lists on Pinterest & thought it would good to write my own, so here's a few tips to do the night before to make early mornings more bearable.
1. Removing your makeup.
I really struggle with this one, just because I'm so lazy but I have recently been forcing myself to do it before going to bed. I think it's easier if you literally come home & remove it straight away instead of leaving it till your exhausted & just want to curl up in bed. I use the Garnier Miceller Cleansing Water with the Boots Cotton Wool Pads & find all my makeup is just wiped away, leaving my face feeling fresh when I wake up.
2. Moisturise your skin
Again, working on doing this more, but I find waiting for moisturiser to dry after your morning shower before putting on your clothes for the day, takes so long! Perfect solution, do it the night before & it doesn't really matter if it gets on your pjs. I'm loving using the body butters from the Body Shop, they just leave my skin feeling so soft the next day. My favourite to use at the moment is the Shea Body Butter, it just smells so good!
3. Plan your outfit
This is such a good tip & one I started to do when I was in college. In secondary school, we had a uniform so that was easy to get up & put the same old shirt, tie & skirt on each day, but when college started & we had to make sure we were dressed to impress (laughing so hard at some of the outfits I wore back then!) it always helped to plan the night before. I still do that now for work. We don't have a uniform as such, but we do have to wear either black or white, so I do always get out my top & skirt / trousers the night before & make sure they don't need ironing or anything that's going to take time in the morning.
4. Make a packed lunch
This one is essential! How many of you get up & think "Ah 5 more minutes in bed & I'll just pick up something from the café". Making a packed lunch before bed has saved me countless pennies & is also a lot healthier. I can control exactly what I plan on eating & I'm not tempted to pick up that unhealthy snack on my way to work.
5. Sort out your bag
This applies to whether your off to school, work or out for the day, you always take different items with you. For example, if I'm heading to work in the car & parking right next to the building, I won't need an umbrella which takes up vital room in my handbag, or if your popping to the shops, make sure you've got all those bags ready so your not charged for buying the whole biscuit aisle! I always try to imagine my routine throughout the day to know what I'm going to need & when. It really helps when your out & about.
I sometimes simply forget to remove my makeup. Feel so guilty in the morning!
ReplyDeleteHaha I know right! I used to do it all the time but trying to get into the habit of doing it as soon as I come home :') x
DeleteI'm good at some of these - I always remove my make up and plan my outfit but should really do the others as well as i would feel so much more relaxed in the morning!

Awwh yeah, everything on the list has definately helped me feel better in the mornings x
DeleteI feel kind of accomplished. I always removed makeup and moisturize. I always pack my lunch. Not so great about picking my outfits or sorting my bag the night before though. I really should work on that!

You're very welcome babe <3 I enjoyed writing this post! xxxx
DeleteI can't remember what it feels like not to be a morning person, although since starting my job I've been laying out my uniform the night before, making sure I have water and ensuring my breakfast is set out and ready to make (No more morning rush) X

Ah that's so good of you babe. I do a mixture of day shifts & late shifts so getting everything prepared really does help when it comes to mornings! x

DeleteThis is such a fab post. I ALWAYS find I sleep better when I don't wear make-up to bed (but much like you, I end up getting so tired). I'll have to remember to take it off when I get in from work! x
