What I've Been Wearing On My Nails #45

ELF - Dark Navy & Poundland - Chit Chat / Barry M - Lavender Glitter Top Coat & Lap Of Honour / Leighton Denny - Star Dust / M&S - Chrome & Treasure Chest

This post is so over-due, I apologise. These are all my festive nails for the Christmas period, but don't worry, you can still rock glitter in January!

Chit Chat was an absolute bargain of a nail polish, I picked it up a year or so ago in Primark & it's one of my favourite glitter top coats. It's got so many different colours in it, it gets a lot of attention for a £1 polish!

If anyone asked me to pick my favourite combination of a glitter top coat & base colour, these 2 Barry M polishes would be coming in at number 1. I love how they look together.

These were my Christmas Day nails. We had our Christmas work party a few days before & as I was undecided on what to wear (I eventually chose a black jumpsuit) I thought sliver would be a perfect option, it just goes with everything! This polish was actually one of the gifts from the M&S beauty advent calendar & it couldn't have come at a more perfect time.

& finally my New Year's nails. I thought I'd mix it up with a bit of gold. These 2 beautiful polishes were a gift from Auntie Jules for Christmas & I love them! They go so perfectly together & looked fab on New Years with an all black outfit. Not sure why I decided to go all black this year but there we go..

What have you been wearing on your nails this month? January's selection has actually been a bit boring. I've been trying to give my nails a bit of a rest this month as I find wearing glitter & removing it can damage them quite a lot, so I've just been going for a few basic base coats.

Hope you're having a lovely week : D

What I've Been Wearing On My Nails #43

Barry M - Prickly Pear
When I was putting together this post, it made me smile. You can see I'm completely torn between hanging on to Summer & embracing Autumn with my nails! I can't seem to let go of the pastel shades & this Gelly Hi-Shine one from Barry M is a staple in my collection. I don't know if it's something people do like they do for their wardrobes, but I feel like I need to put away all my Spring / Summer polishes, so I only have the Autumn / Winter ones accessible to try & get me into the seasonal spirit!

Essie - Ruffles & Feathers
Like last year, I couldn't resist having a green polish on my nails this month. You might remember the Autumnal nail art design I did using this green Essie polish as a base & it had golden leaves on top. I absolutely loved that design so I'm definitely going to be trying it again this year.

Leighton Denny - Rosey Posey & Nails Inc - Gold Glitter
& we're back to another Summer design. I couldn't resist adding a bit of glitter to this one though!

Ted Baker Deep Red (no name!) & Miss Sporty - Glitter Effect, Paris
& finally, I think I might have skipped Autumn & headed straight to Christmas with this design! I had these nails planned out in my head for the longest time, but as soon as I'd painted them, I instantly thought of Christmas. However, it really isn't that long to go till Christmas is here.. so in theory, I'm only a month or so ahead of schedule..

I'm currently thinking of what nail art do to for Halloween this year. I went quite simple last year, with a gold base & silver spider web detailing on top. I'm dressing up as a witch at work, so thinking maybe green or purple to match my makeup! Are you doing anything for Halloween?

What I've Been Wearing On My Nails #37

Barry M - Pit Stop & Purple Glitter
Pit Stop is one of my favourite shades by Barry M. I love having a pastel shade on my nails at this time of year with a glitter top coat.

Ted Baker - Red & Collection Bedazzled - Razzle Dazzle
This nail art design perfectly sums up what festive nails are to me! Just look at them! I'm obsessed.

Leighton Denny - Rosey Posey & Collection Bedazzled - Razzle Dazzle
I have to admit, I'd never heard of Leighton Denny before spotting this beautiful shade on the front of a magazine last month. I am seriously so impressed. I'm going to definitely be picking up a few more shades from this brand.

Nails Inc - Savile Row & Collection Bedazzled - Razzle Dazzle
These are the nails I chose for Christmas Day. You can never go wrong with a dark red & a sprinkling of glitter.

What do you like wearing on your nails this time of year?

Christmas Outfit + Accessories For Under £40!

So, you've completed your Christmas shopping, bought enough lights to guide a plane onto a runway, put the tree up & arranged plans with your family for Christmas Day. You've written all your cards & bought enough sherry to last you till next Christmas, but is there something your forgetting..?

Oh yes, that dreaded Christmas work meal that everyone is going too. You need a new outfit, something that will stand out & make your colleagues do a double take when they see you in something other than your work uniform..

One problem, you're completely broke. You spent your last £1 buying two rolls of wrapping paper in Poundland to finish wrapping the annoyingly huge present you got for your dad. But wait.. you can get a new playsuit for a tenner, a pair of shoes & bag for £20 & a few accessories for under £40?! Surely not..

-----

So, let's start with this playsuit. £10. Yup, that's right, £10. What makes it even better is it's velvet. My absolute favourite thing to wear at this time of year, it just screams Christmas. I am in love with the halter neck style & it isn't too low cut for a meal with work colleagues (& potentially your boss!) you don't want to go to boobie!

Now if we move on to these boots. Depending on what your doing after the meal, heels might be more appropriate but I love how a pair of boots look with playsuits. Especially ones that are as glittery as these. Plus you can never go wrong with boots for comfort compared to heels. I also wanted to include these tights. Primark tights are simply amazing. They are so cheap & as I always ladder mine, you never want to invest anymore than a few quid on a pair.

As well as being obsessed with velvet at this time of year, I had to include this fluffy clutch bag which has also worked it's way into my favourites. Just look how pretty it is! Alongside this bracelet, it will add a bit of sparkle to the outfit.

Oh & finally this gorgeous nail polish is only £1.50 & will make a beautiful top coat on top of a dark berry polish, or just on it's own to match the boots. I just had to include it!

What do you think about this outfit?
What are you wearing to your Christmas meal this year?

Life Lately #94

This update is full of celebrations & food! Definitely my favourite time of year : D

Elisa & Jamie hosted their yearly Christmas dinner on 12th December & we all brought an element to the Christmas meal. We had such a fun night, opening Secret Santa presents & playing games. Bo also made this amazing cake which was peppermint flavour. It was amazing.

I met up with my tea ladies the following day for our Christmas meal at our local pub. They do the most amazing food at such a reasonable rate. I had brownie for pudding & we had another Secret Santa exchange.

James is now back from uni! We've been working most of the time as it's been the lead up to Christmas & we have pantomime at work, but we managed to squeeze in a trip to see the new Star Wars last Friday. It was absolutely amazing! It was one of those films you come out off & want to go straight back in & watch again! So so so good, have you seen it?

I met up with my girls for a final meal before Christmas at Nandos last Sunday where we swapped pressies & had a catch up over some delicious chicken!

Last night was our work Christmas do. Myself & Nicola organised a three course meal with the lovely ladies on our box office at our local pub. I had the salmon to start, turkey for main & finally a chocolate mousse for pudding. My mum wrote us a quiz, which included a surprise baby round for Elisa as she leaves work tomorrow to give birth to bump. I'm so excited, but so sad to lose my best friend at work.. tears will be coming tomorrow!

Oh & look who's getting in the festive spirit.. Honey loves Christmas! She's been helping me with the wrapping this year & gets excited everytime a present goes under the tree. I can't believe how quick December has gone..

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas & Happy New Year! : )

What I've Been Wearing On My Nails #28 - Christmas Addition!

Essie - Vernis
I think this nail polish has featured many a time on my blog but I just can't get enough of it. It's the perfect shade for Autumn / Winter & last ages on the nails.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine - Pomegranate & Models Own - Southern Lights
I just had to include a red polish as it's Christmas! How beautiful are the Barry M Gelly polishes by the way? I think they are perfect for this time of year. I used Models Own Southern Lights to add a bit of sparkle down the centre of each nail, but I'm not kidding when I say this glitter nail polish takes ages to dry. It must of been around 5 hours before I could feel the glitter had completely set.

Nails Inc Gel Effect - Regent Street & Models Own - Snowflake
I recently re-discovered my snowflake top coat by Models Own & fell in love all over again. I call these my 'Frozen nails' - can you see why? ; )

Nails Inc - Savile Row & Models Own - Juicy Jules
Another one of my favourite polishes & mixed with Juicy Jules from Models Own, it just makes such a Christmassy shade to wear on your nails. I had a weekend filled with Christmas parties & celebrations & this was my chosen design.

What have you been wearing on your nails this December? : )

Nails #12

Rimmel - Too Cool To Tango / Chit Chat - Rio

This glitter polish made my day. I was walking round Poundland, looking for some tacky Halloween items, when I saw this sitting on the shelf. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations (only being a pound) but I'm like a magpie with shiny things.. So I picked it up & wow. I'm in love : )

Nails Inc - Savile Row

This has to be my favourite Autumn / Winter polish. It's so beautiful. It reminds me of melted chocolate. : )

Primark - 03

A simple glitter I picked up from Primark last year. I'm started to get Christmasy really early this year so this was on my nails in the middle of November!

La Femma Beauty - Electric Blue / L'oreal - Confetti

Mmm, more Christmasy nails. This combo has to be one of my favourites. You've all seen me mention this stunning top coat before. I just adore it.

Models Own - Balearic Cool  / Models Own nail art pens in white, black & pink

& finally my most Christmasy design of the year.. SNOWMEN. I know they aren't the neatest, but I was so chuffed with this little guy.

Are you all ready for Christmas? Which is your favourite polish this season?

Christmas Nails #4

Barry M - Bright Red & Models Own Nail Art Pen

Myself & Gemma last night

These were a little last minute so I apologise if they look a bit tatty..

Went out last night for a Christmas themed pub trip last night, so I obviously had to paint my nails. ; ) I've also got a Christmas dinner tonight with my tea ladies, then a huge group one next weekend. I'm going to have to roll away from the tables.. & diet in the New Year I think.

Are you all ready for Christmas? : )

Christmas Nails #3

Gold glitter - yes, it is officially Christmas time!

I think this is probably my favourite of my Christmas nails. (if you haven't seen my other two nail posts, you can here & here)

Have you got into the Christmas spirit yet? : )

Christmas Nails #2

Who can resist a bit of green sparkle at Christmas?

These two polishes I've had for over a year. I think the green glitter one was given to me by my Mum but I have no idea where she bought it from. It's called Dazzling N101. I absolutely love it, but it smells so strong! The dark green base coat is Panache by Barbara Daly for Tesco.

I love these two polishes combined, so Christmasy.

Make sure you check out my other Christmas nail post from last week too lovelies. Hope you're all well! : )

Christmas Nails #1

Seeing as it is now December, it is officially CHRISTMAS TIME! To be fair, it's seemed like Christmas ever since the middle of November for me this year, (very strange as I'm usually a humbug until the middle of December!) so I decided to start early this year. My one rule for Christmas nails? They must be covered with glitttttter!

So red is the most Christmasy colour there is in my opinion. I own alot of red polishes, but one of my all time favourites is actually my MUA polish. It's lasted me over a year & for only £1, it's a complete bargain.

I picked up the Collection polish last month. It's part of their Bedazzled nail effect collection, called Razzle Dazzle. It's such a pretty varnish; pink, blue, purple, gold & silver glitter all merged into one pot! Heaven.

I'm doing some more Christmas nail posts in the next couple of weeks, so make sure you check back for those. : ) Hope you're all well lovelies!
