OOTD - Beach Ride

Playsuit - Primark / Necklace & earrings - Bay (very old) / Lips - Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie.

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen me ask what to wear for a casual bike ride last week. Seriously, I had no clue. It was quite a hot, sunny day, so I didn't want layers but seeing as I hadn't ridden a bike for.. maybe 5ish years.. I didn't want to fall off & have un-protected legs. Obviously, a skirt was out of the equation & jeans would have been ridiculous, so I eventually decided on this playsuit with pale tights. I think it worked quite well. : )

I love the 'beachy look', even if I'm not actually going to the beach. : ' ) This necklace & my earrings are about 4 years old! I remember going shopping with my mum & spotting them along with another 'beach dress' in Bay & just knowing I had to get them, (as a set of course).

The playsuit was actually a recent buy from Primark, for only £5! It did come with straps that I tried to attach before we went, but one of the buckles snapped so I just left it strapless. It actually surprised me & didn't fall down, despite me pedalling like a maniac. : D

Hope you all have fab weekends. : )

Week In Photos #9

My prizes I won from Katie's giveaway (post here) / Marie Claire magazine / Free ciate nail varnish / Bike ride / OOTD (post here) / My jar cake from Muffin, so delicious / We wrote our names on the wall / Hello Harv / Went to watch Louise & Jack racing / NOTW (post here) / FOTD / Shakeaway - Terry's chocolate orange, so yum! / Bike ride #2 / Imi & myself out for Muffin's 21st / Avengers mask, yes I do believe I'd make a very sexy super hero.

Hey lovelies. : )

I've done so much in this past week - it's literally been non-stop.

Last Wednesday, I went for a bike ride with Pete. It was actually such a beautiful day, we stopped for ice cream & to take the odd photo here & there but otherwise kept going for about 2 & a half hours. Now for someone like me who never does any exercise (except walk the dogs across the fields once a day) I think I did pretty well considering. : ' )

It was one of my best friend's 21st last Thursday, so we went out celebrating on the Saturday. We started off at his house with a bbq, then went into town for drinks. He made us all a jar cake with our names on, I have to say, most delicious cake ever. It was also so lovely to catch up with some friend's that have been hiding away at uni & were back to celebrate this weekend. Makes me smile so much when they came up to me & immediately mentioned they read my blog. Thanks Jo, Mils & Mat. You seriously made my night. : D

Finally, on Sunday, I managed to drag Pete to the stock, prods & junior racing event which was on local to us. My dad used to race old cars but gave up when I was born. However, some of our family friends still race, so we went down to watch them. It was such a good day, despite Pete being so ill, he nearly threw up in my car on the way there..

So yes, busy week. Off to watch Snow White & The Huntsman tonight - has anyone seen it? Fingers crossed it's better than the last one. : )

The Accessory Stand

Hey dolls! : )

So a little while ago, I entered a giveaway over at Katie's blog, (she's an absolute darling, you should all go over & visit her blog, NOW!) to win two gorgeous rings from The Accessory Stand. I'd never heard of them before, but after looking at the two rings they were giving away, I just had to check out the rest of their items. They sell a range of jewellery; rings, necklaces, earrings, etc for such a reasonable price - you can visit their website here.

I was actually lucky enough to win the giveaway! I was so excited as one of the rings I'd decided to purchase if I didn't win anyway, so to get it free was just a bonus!

Aren't they beautiful? The cat ear ring I've wanted for such a long time after seeing it make regular appearances on a lot of blogs over the past couple of months & the green ring is so unique & not too big on my fingers. I have really thin, long fingers, so I do have to buy rings I know won't swamp them, this one is just perfect size for me.

I can't believe how quick they arrived either, I was totally surprised when the postman brought me the package the next day!

If you have any questions about the company or want to get in touch, they reply almost instantly on twitter, you can follow them here. : )

Recent Buys - Gold Edition

It's weird when you unintentionally buy items that have a theme isn't it? Without realising, I can home the other day with a range of gold accessories. Deep down, I've always loved gold, but I'm traditionally a 'silver girl' or on the odd occasion, a 'white gold girl'. Strange. Anyway, here's what I picked up.

Bow clutch - New Look / Peace ring - Dorothy Perkins / Spike earrings - H&M / Double choker - Dorothy Perkins / Spiked hair cuff - H&M

Bow clutch - I knew I had to have this when I saw it. I've been looking for a unique clutch for nights out for ages. This is such a useful bag, as well as a flip opening, it also has a zip to stop things falling out. (Which always seems to happen to me). It was also in the sale, £4 down from £10! Bargain.

Peace ring - The peace symbol is everywhere at the moment & I have to say I'm lovin' it.

Spike earrings - These were only £1.99 can you believe! I love pairing them with the gold choker & a high-buttoned shirt.

Double-ringed choker - Down to £1 from £7.50, I couldn't resist this. Simple chokers seem to be making the rounds on youtube at the moment & while I do like my jewellery to stand out, this was just too elegant to not add to my collection.

Spiked hair cuff - Again, I've seen a couple of these on youtube, but not the spiked ones. If I tie my hair up, it's either in a messy bun or a backcombed high pony. This is perfect to add to the 'messy' bad hair day look.

Week In Photos #8

Bacon & egg 'hangover' sandwich / My glass Dachshund from Cathy / Grey Skies OOTD / FOTD / Another new edition to our family / BBQ #1 / BBQ #2 / Wilson / Sailor Woman OOTD

Trying to put this 'week in photos' together was actually really hard. I've hardly done anything or taken any pictures.

My best friend Boop was back from uni last Saturday so we spent the night down the pub with everyone & have had a week of gossiping & catching up. Apart from that, it's been work work work.

How's your week going?

OOTD - Anchor Woman

Dress - Boohoo / Leggings - Primark / Rings - Topshop / Earrings - Topman / Bracelet - Miss Selfridge / Necklace - Dorothy Perkins / Nails - Models Own & Barry M / Lips - Revlon Berry Smoothie Lip Butter.
Why are my hands so weird? Seriously.

This was an outfit post from last week when I went to see Rock Of Ages. It was so amazing, I really wanted to get up, dance & sing the whole way through. Of course, it's full of cheesy moments & classic 'burst-into-song-when-you-express-any-type-of-emotion' but that's what musicals are all about. Russell Brand's character was just amazing, I love him anyway, but my love has increased massively since I watched that film!

I also managed to see half of Prometheous during one of my shifts. (I work at a cinema for those of you who don't know). It totally freaked me out. Not a massive fan of aliens coming out of people I have to say..

Hope you're all enjoying your weekends. : )

Spring Fling Spring Brights By 17

This palette has been raved about so much in the blogging community, I couldn't resist picking it up. It's a beautiful eye shadow palette, that contains 4 different shades by 17.

Please excuse the slight thumb print at the bottom there.. it was a challenge to open with my nails. : ' )

Like I said, you get four different eye shadow shades within this palette. I absolutely adore the golds, (1 & 4) closely followed by the pink & lilac (2 & 3)

You can see from the swatches, the colours aren't exactly 'Spring Brights'. Infact, they aren't very pigmented at all, but if you aren't used to wearing colours on your eyes, these would probably suit you as a starter palette. I do wear eye shadows most days & prefer them to be slightly more pigmented, but for a sutle day time look, this is my new go-to palette.

17 also released the Hazy Days palette, which I'm quite keen to get my hands on too!

These palette's retail for around £5.99 from Boots - however I got mine from the 'clearence section' for £3! Bargain.

Have you tried this palette or the Hazy Days palette?

OOTD - Grey Skies

Top - New Look / Leggins - Bellique / Earrings - Dorothy Perkins / Necklace - Unknown (gift) / Nails - Barry M & Models Own.

Hey dolls, here's my outfit from today. I spent the day round Cathy's house, drinking tea & gossipping & eating left over Shepard's pie. : )

Not much to say about this outfit except it kinda fits my mood at the moment. Spring / Summer has definitely disappeared from the UK & we're back to rain every day & floods in the most inconvenient places. My mum brought me these leggins home the other day & I fell in love. They are so soft it's unreal, but really hard to style!

Hope you're all well ladies, I'm off to see Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp tonight, so excited. : )

Ardingly Show '12

Hey dolls!

Yesterday the sun finally came out again (well, sort of.. a few spots of rain isn't too bad for the UK..) which was awesome, as we went to our local county show. Hard to explain, but it's basically a place filled with animals, stalls, food & drink, crafts & a fair. I go every year with my family. As some of you know, I keep chickens so we take them as a display to the shows.

This is Wilson, isn't he beautiful? : )

These are also both mine. Cute aren't they? It's so hard to take decent photos of chickens, they move so fast! This breed is bred to have no tail, I think they are adorable. My friend pointed out the other day I seem to own all the 'weird' breeds of chicken.. can't deny that one..

After the show, everyone came back to mine & it was nice enough to have a BBQ & a few drinks. Also, a couple of games of badminton got thrown in as well. : )

Hope you all had a lovely weekends, what did you get up too?

Week In Photos #7

Mohawk sheep / New leggins from Mum / Titanic poster / Sorting out my makeup / Sleek lipsticks (post here) / Jubilee nails / "Little Mo" / Gothic nails / Dinner / Night out / Spring Fling palette (post coming soon) / Danny's 18th.

Hi lovelies.

I've just got back from a two hour dog walk with my girls, it is pouring in the UK right now. I've got into my pj's, turned on my itunes & made myself a cup of tea. Bliss.

I had to work every day over the Jubilee weekend except Monday, but still managed to paint my nails, squeeze in a movie night, a bit of scrabble & eat a large chocolate cake to celebrate. : )

How's your week been?

Sleek Makeup True Colour Lipstick

Hey lovelies, how are you all?

Wanted to show you these two lipsticks I picked up from Superdrug the other day.

I've never tried Sleek Lipsticks before so after doing a couple of swatches on my hand in the shop, I thought I'd give them a go. One is a barbie pink, called Amped & the other is a nude shade called Barely There. Apart from the colours being different, one is actually a matte lipstick & the other a sheen. To be honest, I don't have a favourite in this respect. Amped is a gorgeous bright pink but very drying for the lips, I always add a lipgloss when I wear it, but Barely There is so shiny, it just rubs off after a short while.

Despite one being drying & the other not being very durable, I do love the shades & the way they apply.

Swatches: top - Amped, bottom - Barely There.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks? What do you think?
