Highlight of the week has to be our Christmas Curry night on Sunday. Lauren made way too much food as always. : ) Rice, chicken, cakes & chcolate pastries were all consumed that night, oh & Emily's delicious star biscuits too! Definately time to diet in the new year..

So it's officially Christmas day in 4 days! Ahhhhhh!

Who's excited? I've bought everything, now time to finish wrapping..

OOTD - Torn In Five

Top - New Look / Skirt & belt - Internationale / Bowler hat - Ebay / Necklace - Gift / Earring & cuff - Coleyyyful / Nails - No7 & Barry M
Another outfit post that has been sitting in my drafts for a month.. & not a very Christmasy one at all. : (

Anyway, I love this skirt. It's so versatile & cute. It was actually in the kids section of Internationale, but being an elasticated waist, it fits fine. Little short, but who's complaining? ; )

How is everyone doing? Nearly ready for Christmas day? It's a week today!

I'm officially so excited!

Christmas Nails #4

Barry M - Bright Red & Models Own Nail Art Pen

Myself & Gemma last night

These were a little last minute so I apologise if they look a bit tatty..

Went out last night for a Christmas themed pub trip last night, so I obviously had to paint my nails. ; ) I've also got a Christmas dinner tonight with my tea ladies, then a huge group one next weekend. I'm going to have to roll away from the tables.. & diet in the New Year I think.

Are you all ready for Christmas? : )

Might have to hire an elf for the next week or so.. I hate wrapping presents. They always end up looking such a mess.. : ' D

I'm so ill as well. It's so frustrating - I can't stop sneezing & spluttering everywhere. Yes, customers love me.

Ah & make sure you check out my Christmas nail posts if you want some inspiration this week. : )

Christmas Nails #2

Who can resist a bit of green sparkle at Christmas?

These two polishes I've had for over a year. I think the green glitter one was given to me by my Mum but I have no idea where she bought it from. It's called Dazzling N101. I absolutely love it, but it smells so strong! The dark green base coat is Panache by Barbara Daly for Tesco.

I love these two polishes combined, so Christmasy.

Make sure you check out my other Christmas nail post from last week too lovelies. Hope you're all well! : )

Week In Photos #27

Pub dinner / Christmas decs / Offfft, December / Glamorous package arrived.. / Disco pants were inside! / Alan filled with all our Christmas shopping / Doughnuts for lunch / Movie marathon / Going to bed has never been so exciting :) / Advent calender / Wrapping all of James' presents for his advent calender / FINISHED! / Decorating my room / Honey guarding my mail / Lunch with Gemmmmma.

I've done so much Christmas shopping this week, I think I've actually got too many presents for some people. : ' ) I only have two days off in December (not including 24th, 25th, 26th) so I've been trying to do as much shopping as possible in lunch breaks & in November. Think I've done quite well considering.

Oh & I just had to order myself something. Yay, disco pants for Christmas! I have to say, like every blogger in the world who has them, I love them! They are actually so snug to wear this weather & go with everything. Perfect.

I'm just about to start decorating our tree before work this afternoon. We have a real tree & I just love the smell it fills the house with. That, mixed with my Vanilla Creme candle & a bit of Christmasy music, I'm all set. Wish me luck. (It's a proper beast of a tree!)

Christmas Nails #1

Seeing as it is now December, it is officially CHRISTMAS TIME! To be fair, it's seemed like Christmas ever since the middle of November for me this year, (very strange as I'm usually a humbug until the middle of December!) so I decided to start early this year. My one rule for Christmas nails? They must be covered with glitttttter!

So red is the most Christmasy colour there is in my opinion. I own alot of red polishes, but one of my all time favourites is actually my MUA polish. It's lasted me over a year & for only £1, it's a complete bargain.

I picked up the Collection polish last month. It's part of their Bedazzled nail effect collection, called Razzle Dazzle. It's such a pretty varnish; pink, blue, purple, gold & silver glitter all merged into one pot! Heaven.

I'm doing some more Christmas nail posts in the next couple of weeks, so make sure you check back for those. : ) Hope you're all well lovelies!

Week In Photos #26

Bakin' with Pete / Downloading! / Bagels for our epic breakfasts / Matches to light all my new candles / babies keeping warm / I don't think I have enough nail varnishes yet.. do you? / New socks / Spoilt #1 / Spoilt #2 / Dan cooked me dinner / & pudding / Dini dog giving me evils :')

First of all, let's imagine this collage has another two rows of photos. We wouldn't have to imagine if someone hadn't deleted the files off her camera before copying them to a file.. -sigh-

This week has consisted of alot of food, work & chilly winter days. Alan (my car) is slowly dying more & more & even though I've filled him with pretty fairy lights, he is still grumpy it is winter & is refusing to move further than my 15min drive to work.. mmm.. anyone know how to cheer a car up? Suggestions welcome. : )

Hope you're all having a good week!

Star Lytes - Vanilla Creme

Ladies & gentlemen, let me introduce you to my new obsession. Candles. But not just any candles, Star Lytes candles.

This year I've already bought about 8 (oops). I know every blogger in the world is obsessed with Yankie candles - but being so expensive, I've tried to find a suitable alternative. I have to say, Star Lytes candles smell just as amazing if not better than any Yankee candle I've smelt. My favourite is the Vanilla Creme, but they do other Christmas scents, such as Cinnamon Sticks & Snow-capped Pine. They come in a range of sizes like the Yankee candles. The biggest one I own is 510g. I also bought 4 of the smaller sized ones which have lasted me ages & were in a pack for £3.99 (roughly £1 each!)

Have you tried Star Lytes? I can't recommend them enough, seriously. : D

These outfit photos must have been taken about a month ago! How awful that I'm just getting round to posting it. : /

I absolutely adore this combo, a white top with a black skirt & boots is so effortless but looks so lovely.

Oh & I'm really getting into the Christmas spirit now, I've covered my house with scented candles & mince pies & sherry are on my shopping list for tomorrow! : D Who else is excited for Christmas?!

NOTW #13

Ah, I adore these polishes.

The Barry M Pink Sapphire Glitter is so un-usual. Unlike a normal glitter, it has silver strands & a mixture of sequins & small glitter particals in it. So pretty & very Christmasy. Ontop of my old favourite Utopia (which hasn't really left my nails since I bought it) I adore these colours together.

Have you tried either of these polishes?

My Winter Boots #2

So this is my 2nd Winter boot post. If you haven't seen my first pair of boots, make sure you check those out too. : )

Right so I basically love these! They have a slightly smaller heel than my Primark ones, have gold studs & are saude. My first intention was to only keep one pair of these boots, but one being silver & the other gold, I convinced myself there was a huge difference of course, so I could keep both. ; D Which is true.. right? I mean.. a gold pair & a silver pair you can match with whatever you're wearing..

New Look - £22.99

Only negative is they are both saude, I do need to get some of that aweome protective spray or a more suitable pair for the wet weather.. mmm more shoes.. never a bad thing. ; )

What do you think lovelies?

I've had such a good week. : )

Went on a massive shopping spree with Gemma last Wednesday & scooped up alot of Lush products as well as some clothes in the sales. I'm awful when I go not to spend money.. I always come back with so much stuff..

Jon took me to see the Lion King on Thursday, oh my gosh it's such an amazing show. Have any of you seen it in London? If you haven't, I highly recommend it.

Also, my bowler hat & tartan scarf arrived. I'm seriously in love with this combo!

Hope you're well lovelies, stay tuned for my next post to see my other pair of Winter boots. If you missed the first pair, the post is here. : )

My Winter Boots

I love a black ankle boot. Honestly, who doesn't? There are so many designs around at the moment as well, it's hard not to find one you like. So, here's my first beautiful pair. (No idea what's up with the colour of these photos, the lighting made them look really strange!)

Primark - £18

Offffft, I'm in love seriously. I've been wearing these boots to death over the past month as you can probably see!

They have the perfect size heel as well. I wore them up to London last week & didn't feel any discomfort the entire day! Amazing. The studs also add such a cool edge to any outfit. Only problem is they are impossible to wear in the rain. Being a saude material, you have to save them for dry days.

What do you think lovelies? I'll show you my other Winter boot purchase in my next post so make sure you check back!

Week In Photos #23

Sleeeeepy animals / Turkey - growing so much! / Galaxy parcel / Champagne! / Pumpkins #1 / Pumpkins #2 / Potato hearts / Flowers for my mum / Primark nails / Fireworks #1 / Fireworks #2 / Dinnnnnner.

Oh my goodness, between work & sleeping, I haven't actually done much this past week!

Actually, I lie. I managed to carve my very first pumpkin (without the help of my Dad & only a little from Matt!) Can you guess which mine is?

Oh & I had an interview on Friday for a contracted position at work & I got it! So so so happy, so we bought champagne & celebrated Friday night. Going out with everyone to celebrate later this evening, after a night of dressing up at work. : )

& of course, you know it's a special day today, which means.. Honey has a new outfit to show you..

Happy Halloween!

Chocolate Mousse

Lately Matt has been treating me to alot of lovely dinners. (He seems to love cooking, I'm not complaining..!) so I thought I'd make my 'signature' pudding for him last week, chocolate mousse. I do know the recipe, but I always have this book on hand if I forget any details or what technique I'm supposed to use. It's a lovely chocolate recipe book by Kate Shirazi.

What you'll need:

225g plain chocolate
4 large eggs
25g caster sugar
150ml whipping cream

Step 1: Melt your chocolate (I do this using a bowl over a saucepan of boiling water) & leave it to cool slightly. I also used two bowls to speed up the melting!

Step 2: Separate your egg yolks from your egg whites & beat the egg yolks.

Step 3: You'll then need to whisk in the chocolate a little bit at a time until it is combined with the egg yolk.

Step 4: Grab another bowl (or saucepan in my case!) & whisk the egg whites with the sugar until they form soft peaks.

Step 5: Whisk a third of the mixture into the chocolate mixture & then fold in the rest.

Step 6: Pour the cream into another bowl & whisk it until it forms soft peaks, then pour it into the chocolate mixture.

Step 7: Once everything has been mixed in, pour your mousse into your pots & put them into the fridge to set for at least an hour.

Step 8: Take them out about an hour before your going to serve them, this makes them taste even yummier!

*Extra tip! If you want to add a chocolate heart or any other shape on top of the mousse like I have, use the remaining melted chocolate (there's always some left at the bottom of the bowl) & draw your shape onto the mousse before popping it in the fridge*

& that's it! So simple to do lovelies! Let me know if you try this recipe! : )
