Quimper

Hello lovelies,

At the end of July, James & I went on a family holiday to Quimper, in Brittany, France. I realised when I was looking through the photos the other day I hadn't actually written this blog post! Apologies for it being so late.

We stayed in 2 beautiful cottages that shared a massive swimming pool & gardens. It was absolutely perfect as we had a range of ages in our family & the cottages were the perfect place to act as a base for people that wanted to go out in the day, but also for those who were happy to relax at the accomodation.

We had pretty decent weather as well. The first couple of days were rainy, but it picked up & got surprisingly warm towards the end of the week.

Barrie, Louise, Martin, Sylvie & I ventured out on the first full day (in the wind & rain!) to Point Penmarch, where there are 2 lighthouses. We also made our way a bit further along the coast & saw some massive waves coming over the rocks. The wind & rain kind of added to the whole setting & it was very impressive. I also managed to spot a wild seal! Which was extremely cute, bobbing it's head under the waves.

We also had a day out to the most gorgeous beach which seemed to go on for miles. It was the perfect setting for a walk.

We then headed to the most westerly point in France, Pointe-Du-Raz. The walk to the view point was actually quite a way from the car park (just to warn you if you are visiting!) but the view was worth it in the end!

We also had a day out at a gardens which was so beautiful & I got to wear my sunflower dress! (My ultimate dress of the summer!) Perfect for strolling around looking at all the wildlife & pretty flowers. It was only £9 on Ebay!

Did you get to go on holiday this year? If so, where did you go?

I can't wait to start planning our next adventure!

What To Wear On Valentines's Day

Hi lovelies,

Can you believe it's Valentine's Day this week?! How has that come round so fast..

Love it or hate it, you can't escape the stigma that comes with this holiday. I actually love Valentine's Day. Any excuse to wear pink & I'm all for it. I actually love coming up with ideas & ways to spoil my friends & family. As a few of them read my blog (yes, I'm talking about you) I'm not going to write on here what I've been up to, but instead I'm going to show you a few outfits I've picked out no matter what your plans are this week.

Firstly, nothing beats a cosy night in, watching trashy tv.

I know I for one will be cosied up with James, watching Vampire Diaries & eating Chinese. There's nothing worse than being uncomfortable when eating huge amounts of food.. so, let's welcome first of all; the tracksuits.

Red Tracksuit / Red '1990' Tracksuit / Slogan Tracksuit / Floral Embroided TrainersDrawstring Rucksack / Studded Earrings

They are so comfy, yet there's something so sassy about them. These are my three favs I picked out from BooHoo & I've tried to either select red or pink items for this post, just to stick to the 'Valentines' theme, but also because I just adore wearing both these colours!

If you're running low on wine or can't resist another chocolate cheesecake, you'll need these cute trainers to run to the shops in! I love the embroidery on the side & for £18, they are a complete bargain. I also couldn't resist adding in this rucksack, perfect for shoving your phone & money in while you dash out.

Ok, something a bit more fancy now. Say if you were going out for a lunch or afternoon tea, these two dresses are absolutely perfect.

Tea Dress / Floral Shirt Dress / Peeptoe Sock Boots / Embroided Velvet Boots / Nude Tote Bag / Layered Necklace

I love the flared sleeves of the red dress, paired with these cute heeled peeptoe boots. There's something so feminine, yet edgy about this look. The second dress just called out to me & the fact it comes in pink & cream, just makes me so happy. I really can't decide which one I like better.. might just have to order them both..

Oh & how cute are these embroided boots.. I mean.. seriously.. they currently are less than half price, so I couldn't exactly say no. Teamed with this nude tote bag, it's the perfect way to look put together, without too much effort.

How beautiful is this maxi dress? I think it has to be my favourite item of this post. It's so incredibly beautiful & looks so elegant. I would love to have an occasion to wear this to.. (James.. hint hint) paired with this suede clutch bag & hoop earrings, definitely on to a winner. I'm also a massive fan of black heels with pastel colours. I don't know what it is about the look overall, but I just think it brings it all together. Add a bit of embroidery to the heel & your definitely onto a winner.

What are your plans for Valentine's Day? I hope you have an amazing day whatever you decide to do. Oh & let me know if you pick up any of these items! I'd love to see how you style them.

OOTD - Summer Rose

Dusky Pink Pinafore Dress - Primark (LINK) or (SIMILAR HERE)
White Tee - Primark (LINK)
Rucksack - Primark
Heeled Sandals - New Look (LINK)
Sunnies - Primark
Rings - Pandora
Nail Varnish - Barry M

Ah, look at the sun. I can almost feel it on my skin again looking back at these pictures! It was around 31 degrees when I took these & I literally ran into the house sweating & had to change immediately!

I want to first of all confess my love to suede. Yes, the pinafore & sandals are both suede. There's something so beautiful about it I can't resist it.. please tell me its not just me?

Let's start with these sandals. I've been looking for the perfect pair for over a year now & these recently came into my life when I was searching online for some new winter boots. Sadly, I didn't find any, but I did find these! Funny how things work out eh? They are the perfect height for me as an everyday work shoe, so hopefully I'll be getting use out of them for the rest of this Summer & next year.

On a recent trip to Bath with James, we popped into Primark & this pinafore dress immediately caught my eye! Just look at that dusky pink colour, it's so beautiful. I'm tempted to go back & get the dark green one, as that would be perfect for Autumn with some black boots.

Oh & this rucksack was my life saver in Corfu. It's the perfect size & carries so much in it. I wouldn't have survived the holiday without it.

OH & I filmed this outfit too! My first ever OOTD on YouTube, so please go check it out. Any comments / suggestions are very welcome! I love making videos but I know I'm not the best at it.

OOTD - Blue Stripes

Hello lovelies!

I haven't uploaded an outfit post since.. last July. Oh dear. I actually love looking back over my blog to see my outfits (& most of the time be thinking "what the hell was I wearing?!") But I think it's important to see how your style changes as you get older & wiser. I really should post more, especially now I have my new tripod!

So, on to today's outfit.

Fedora & Sunnies - Primark
Tights - Tesco
Boots & Pom Pom - Ebay

I'm actually in love with this shirt dress. I saw it in the ASOS sale & knew I had to grab it! I chose to style it with my new fedora from Primark & shopper bag from Select.

I needed a new handbag at the end of last year & despite me always having everything but the kitchen sink piled in there, it's lasted pretty well. Select Fashion have the most beautiful bags for such a good price, definitely check them out if you're looking for one!

& finally, my beautiful knee high boots. What can I say? They are basically my most worn item of footwear from the past 6 months & I adore them. They are surprisingly comfy & don't fall down unlike some boots I've tried in the past.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend lovelies, let me know if you'd like to see more outfit posts on my blog! Makes a change from my beauty review & life update posts : )

Our Holiday To France

Hello lovelies, hope you're all well.

I mentioned in my last Life Lately post that I'd been on holiday to France at the beginning of September. (Again I apologise for the lack of posts around that time, I decided to have a little break from blogging while I was away)

We travelled on an over-night ferry from Portsmouth to Caen so we could take our car with us. The boys do a lot of golfing on holiday, so it's cheaper than flying with the extra luggage. I've only ever been on a ferry to the Isle Of White before, (45 minute journey!) so this was a new experience for me. We had our own cabin & access to the beautiful bar & entertainment area while on board.

We left Portsmouth around 11pm & myself & James went to watch the ferry depart. I've never seen Portsmouth look so beautiful.

Leaving Portsmouth / The sunrise the next morning arriving in France

We arrived in France the next morning at 6.30am, which meant a 5.30am wakeup call. The ferry plays this relaxing music into your cabins, which you can't turn off! Most annoying, but it did get us up & out of bed pretty quick! We had a full English breakfast before jumping back in the car to start our 7 hour journey down to Souillac.

James & Alex (James' brother) have been going to Souillac since they were little, so it's almost like a second home to them. The chalet we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, right in the heart of the countryside.

The boys were keen to get golfing asap, so the next day, we booked two buggies & drove round the beautiful golf course. The views from which they tee off are simply stunning. I even had a go driving the buggy!

Driving the buggy / View from the golf course

Apart from doing sport (yes I count driving the buggy & watching the boys play golf as sport..!) we had a lot of relaxation time by the pool. The pool is shared by ten houses, but as we went off season, we had it to ourselves most days. The water was pretty chilly but once the sun came out, we were able to strip off & enjoy the rays.

We also found the time to eat a lot of food, & when I say a lot, I mean a lot! They had a club house on site which did lovely meals but we also went out for dinners at local restaurants.

Chicken, chips & salad / Pudding

& finally we did a bit of exploring in the local area. This is the Sainte-Marie Abbey, which is in the heart of Souillac & we also visited the Dordogne River where we saw a lot of people canoeing on. It looked so peaceful.

We came back on the ferry the following Tuesday after what has to be one of the most relaxing holidays I've been on. It was such a lovely place to stay, I definitely want to go back.

Have you been on holiday this year or have one booked for next year? I can't wait to get planning for our next adventure!

I also made my second vlog today so you can watch these pictures come to life here if you like! I started my YouTube channel over 4 years ago (along with this blog) but have only just started uploading videos again. Would be lovely if you headed over & checked them out. : )

OOTD - Wally

Top & Jeans - Primark
Wedges - New Look
Necklace & Bracelet - Dynamite Designs Jewellery (review here)

Hello lovelies!

Quick outfit of the day for you. I wore this to dinner with my girls a few weeks ago.

I'm absolutely in love with this top, it is just so easy to wear & goes with everything! I paired it with my trusty blue jeans from Primark & my New Look wedges from last year's sale. I adore stripes & am slowly adding more & more to my wardrobe. They are so versatile & perfect for any occasion.

& again, loving my short hair! I did a full post on it here if you'd like a read. I just find it so much easier to style each day than I did with my longer locks!

How has your week been lovelies?

OOTD - Plum Party

Jumpsuit - BooHoo
Clutch & Wedges - New Look

Hello lovelies,

I know these pictures aren't the best but I wanted to show you this jumpsuit I managed to find in the BooHoo sale. It was £12 down from £18. I wore it out to dinner with my girls a few weeks ago. It's so comfy & perfect for that food baby after pudding as it hides all your lumps & bumps.

I paired it with this New Look clutch that I've had since January but hadn't used! Anyone else buy bags & totally forget you've bought them? Once I'd dug it out of my wardrobe, I thought it went perfectly with this jumpsuit. It's half lilac & half multi-coloured glitter & does up with a cute buckle at the front.

& finally my trusty wedges. I've had these shoes since I was 18 & have worn them to death. They are my default pair for going out & knowing I'm going to be on my feet for a lot of the night.

Have you bought anything from BooHoo recently? : )

OOTD - Easter Bunny

Hello lovelies,

Hope you're all well : )

I haven't done an OOTD for absolutely ages! I wanted to show you what I wore to lunch with my grandparents on Easter Sunday. I was lucky enough to get the day off work, so my parents, Auntie & Uncle went to visit my Grandparents. I did a full post on the day which you can read here if you like : )

It seems silly to me looking back at this outfit 2 weeks later as I'm now sitting in 24 degree heat in my garden, wearing shorts & a tee & here I am in a leather jacket, jumper & tights. Crazy English weather.

Anyway, the outfit. I picked up this rabbit jumper in the Primark sale for £7 & thought it would be perfect for Easter (& when I'm having a lazy day round the house with leggings!) My trusty leather jacket from Select Fashion never leaves my side these days. It's just the perfect jacket to throw on over any outfit & is a lot cooler than a winter coat.

This beautiful floral skirt is actually a dress from New Look & I thought it would go in perfect contrast with the biker boots & jacket. I got these boots from Primark for Christmas last year & adore them! They just add character to an outfit without being too OTT.

Hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend! I wrote a full post on my Easter nails & our adventures over the 4 day weekend if you'd like to read, just follow the links.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend : )

Our Trip To Liverpool

Hello lovelies,

I mentioned in my previous "Life Lately" post that myself & James took a trip up to Liverpool to visit Anfield Stadium. My parent's bought James a legend tour around Anfield for Christmas & his 21st birthday back in January. He's supported Liverpool since he was little, but has never been to their home pitch. Until now.. : D

We headed up to Liverpool from Gloucestershire last Friday - we stayed in a local Travelodge, right next to a Toby Carvery. I've never eaten there before but was pleasantly surprised as they offer a roast for £5.99 through-out the day & an unlimited breakfast buffet in the morning for £3.99.

After breakfast, we rang for a taxi to take us to Anfield stadium ready for our tour with the legend, Phil Neal.

James was lucky enough to have a photo at the interview table & with the legendary sign that all the players touch before they head out onto the pitch. I'll never forget him saying to me as we walked down the stairs, that he felt all warm & tingly inside. Made my day!

We were then shown around the changing rooms & onto the pitch. Phil was so lovely the whole way round & was genuinely excited to tell us all his stories. He played 417 consecutive games for Liverpool & despite me not being into football, I could definitely appreciate his awesomeness!

After our tour, we headed back to our car before driving down to the Albert Docks for a quick bite to eat before heading back to Gloucester. We stopped at Costa for a tea & cake & had a wander down past some of the local shops.

Although it was a very overcast day, it was a pretty beautiful place. We heard music coming from The Cavern Club where The Beatles were first seen by Brain Epstein. We also discovered a cute (very expensive!) sweet shop filled with weird tasting jelly beans..

After that, we headed back to Gloucester & cooked steak & chips before collapsing in a tired heap! How was your weekend lovelies? Have you ever been to Liverpool, The Albert Docks or the Anfield Stadium?
