Maybelline - Lash Sensational Multiplying Mascara

Hello lovelies,

I wanted to post today about the new Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I say new, I bought this a few months ago & am only just getting round to blogging about it! I know there is some mixed reviews about this product, so I wanted to share my opinion with you.

So this mascara claims to -

"Our first Layer-Reveal brush with 6 lengths of bristles captures the tiniest lashes you didn't know you had, volumises & defines the look of longer lashes. Result: A Layered, Multiplied Effect. Create A Sensation!"

I have to say, when I first tried this mascara, I was very impressed. It really does seem to lengthen & define my eyelashes. However, I didn't find it really volumised them. The brush is very easy to work with & the mascara dries very quickly on the lashes. I did have some issues with using this on my bottom lashes. It was just too heavy. I like having very defined, subtle bottom lashes, but this weighed them down & resulted in smudging under my eyes.

Although this product is fantastic for the price, I do have other mascara's in my collection that I prefer to use, but it does make for a perfect day time mascara.

Overall, I would give this mascara 7/10. Like I say, it's perfect for wearing during the day, but for a more dramatic evening look, I'll be sticking with my Rimmel Scandel Eye Mascara. (which I can review for you if you'd be interested?)

Have you tried this mascara? What did you think? : )

Life Lately #85

Hello lovelies,

I mentioned in my last update post that it was Gemma's hen party on 14th August & we were planning a spa day before heading out for dinner & cocktails in the evening. It was the most lovely but tiring day! We met at 9am & headed to the spa for 9.30. We were greeted with champagne & breakfast, complete with the softest dressing gowns ever. We had full use of the spa all day, which included the pool, steam room & jacuzzi. Lunch followed at 1.30pm & after another swim in the afternoon, we left at 5.30 & headed back to Gemma's to get ready for the night ahead. It was absolutely pouring all day, so we literally threw on our black dresses & painted our faces before heading to Bill's for the evening meal. Myself & the other two bridesmaids arrived early to prepare the table for Gemma's arrival. It all was so civilized till the wine & champagne started to flow again.. & we ended up with pink feather boas & fluffy whistles wrapped around our necks! Good thing the wedding was the following Saturday & we had a week to recover..

Last Monday, myself & the girls went to Guildford for the day. We shopped till we dropped & ended up in The Tea Terrace, one of my favourite cafes. I've written a full post on this gorgeous little tea room here if you'd like a read.

Last week I managed to catch up with my girl Ricka over breakfast. We went to Cote, which is a lovely French restaurant in our local town. We both had a full English breakfast, complete with Earl Grey teas. Delicious.

James surprised me with these beautiful flowers last week, just look at those roses. I'm a very lucky girl. : )

Last Friday, myself & the girls went to get our nails done (day before Gemma's wedding) We all had French Manicures & went for lunch at a local café. The rehearsal began at 5.30pm at the church & we all headed back to Gemma's parents' for a BBQ. We were so lucky with the weather, it was absolutely beautiful.

& finally yesterday was the big day. It was one of the hottest days we've had in the UK this year, so you can imagine how warm we all were in our wedding attire! Gemma is the first one in our friendship group to walk down the aisle & say I do, so it was a very emotional day for us all! I can't thank Gemma & Ollie enough for asking me to be bridesmaid & making me apart of their big day.

How has your weekend been lovelies?

Travel Perfume Bottle

Hello lovelies,

If you follow me on Twitter, you might have seen me mention I'm going on holiday to France with James in a few weeks time. I really wanted to get my hands on a travel perfume bottle for my handbag. I have always found them so useful, especially when travelling. I mean, who wants to drag around a massive perfume bottle on holiday?

Ebay was the first place I thought of looking for one & I found this adorable heart-shaped bottle.

It's so affordable & perfect sized for your handbag. The seller also does different designs, so you can also order the regular bottles or go for these cool heart designs if you prefer. They come in a wide range of colours.

I find these perfect for travelling or nights away from home, as well as being lighter than a full bottle, you can also use them when you feel you need to top up your perfume throughout the day.

Which is your favourite scent to wear in Summer? : )

Life Lately #84

Hello lovelies,

Myself & the girls managed to squeeze in a cheeky Nandos last week! I haven't been for ages. We only recently got a Nandos in our local town, so we try to make the most of it when we can!

August is full of birthdays, (7 in fact!) in our friendship group, so it's a very manic time. Throw in a hen do & a wedding & you've got one of the busiest months of the year! It was Cathy's birthday last Thursday & we celebrated with a BBQ & quiz at her house, complete with the world's biggest chocolate cake. Gail's was also last week, but we are celebrating this Saturday at a joint Taylor Swift themed BBQ. I've almost got my costume sorted now! Pictures to follow..

Hasn't the weather been weird this week? Sunday was full of sunshine (of course I was working all day..) & since then it's been rain & thunder storms, but it has made the sunsets so beautiful. Just look at that sky!

Last Friday James & I went to Brighton for the day. The sunshine was out the whole time & we managed to visit The Lanes & have a walk on the pier. I love Brighton & even though I live just over half an hours drive from it, it's such a gem to visit & really feels like I'm on holiday when I'm there.

Just look at that poser. Harry has been very keen to show off his feathers before Autumn hits & they all fall out. He's been lucky enough to find a wife this year, so hopefully we should have some chicks next Spring! Very exciting.

& finally yesterday, Elisa, Cathy & I went for lunch at a local café. They serve the most delicious lunches & we couldn't resist a cake for afters! We managed to finish off the hen do preparations for tomorrow (eeeek!) We are planning a day at a local spa, complete with treatments, pool, jacuzzi, breakfast, lunch & a few drinks before heading out for a meal & cocktails in the evening. I can't believe how quick Gem's wedding has come around, it's a week on Saturday till the big day!

How has your week been so far lovelies? : )

Zoella - Kissy Missy Lip Balm

Hello lovelies!

You might have seen a recent post I did reviewing the new body scrub by Zoella from the Tutti Fruity range. I managed to pick up the Kissy Missy lip balm in store a few weeks back so wanted to give you my views on it.

I already mentioned in the body scrub post, but I'll say it again. How adorable is the packaging for this range? I absolutely adore the pink & yellow theme Zoe has chosen. It really does stand out in store & online.

I love how this product is pigmented as well as moisturising. It has a subtle pink colour to it, which is easily buildable on the lips. It is surprisingly moisturising for a product that retails at £3, I do however prefer to still add a Vaseline to my lips before applying this balm. They are so chipped & dry at the moment, I do need a lot of product as a base before applying a pigmented lip product.

It does give off a slight scent, but nothing too over-powering.

Overall, I would rate this product 7/10. Despite the pretty packaging & gorgeous pigmentation, I still feel it could be more moisturising on the lips. I find that I do have to re-apply it every 2 hours or so as it doesn't have the greatest staying power.

Have you tried any of the Zoella range? What were your thoughts? : )

Boots Haul

I'm nearly out of my current nail varnish remover & managed to pick this one up for £1. I've used it before & found it amazing for taking off nail polish & it's a total bargain!

This is a re-purchase. I absolutely adore this cleansing water, it really does live up to all the amazing reviews it gets from bloggers. It removes my makeup effortlessly & feels so gentle on the skin. Definitely worth picking up if you haven't tried it.

Oh my word. Fruit salad shower gel!? How amazing. I saw this on offer at the till & couldn't resist picking up a bottle (or two..) It smells absolutely amazing. When you're in Boots next, see if you can find some to sample. They also do a marshmallow scented shower gel, which I really wish I'd bought now!

I've never tried this before, but after browsing the hair care section, I was drawn to it. It claims to make your hair silky soft after washing, I'll have to see if it lives up to what it says. Have you tried it before?

This was a re-purchase. I love this cream for my hair. It really does tame my frizz before styling & I find my hair a lot more manageable after using it.

I've heard so much about this concealer, I just had to pick it up. This is the first time I've seen the light shade in stock. Just shows how popular this product is!

Another re-purchase. I wash my hair every 3 - 4 days & it stays non-greasy for the first two, but by 3 or 4, it needs a bit of a lift. This dry shampoo has been a life saver over the last few years for my hair, I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't tried it before.

Have you bought anything from Boots recently?

Life Lately #83

Hey lovelies,

Last week I went shopping with Gemma & she took me to Ed's Easy Diner. I've never been before, but every time we walk past the restaurant in our local town, it looks so inviting! I chose the hot dog & fries & Gem had the hot dog & onion rings. I really want to go there for breakfast after eyeing up the menu..

Last Friday we celebrated Jamie's birthday by going for a meal at our local Beefeater. I haven't been there since their recent menu change & the food has really improved. I had the burger & chips & myself & James shared a brownie for pudding.

I had to split myself in half that night & also attended Emily's birthday at the bowling centre. I did awfully! Haha! I used to think I was alright at bowling, but obviously I've gone down hill since my teenage years..

After work yesterday, I went over to Mils' house for a pool party. The weather was so lovely, we had sunshine for the whole afternoon, which included a lot of fun snaps of jumping in the pool & water gun fights.

Finally, nothing beats a brunch on a Sunday. I've been working today, but only till 4 which was nice. James has been playing cricket & I've been catching up on YouTube while eating chocolate this afternoon!

Oh & on a side note, we went to see Inside Out last week & oh my goodness, what a lovely film. Have you seen it? Would love to know what you think : )
