My 23rd Birthday

Hello lovelies : )

Bit late on this post, but it was my 23rd birthday last week. I go a bit crazy on my birthday, I have to say. I seem to always manage to stretch it out over a 3 / 4 day period, which is always fun! This year it was a Thursday, so I had a meal with my tea ladies in our local old fashioned pub down the road from us. Our table was next to an open fire & the food is always so lovely there. I got some beautiful presents, but one I want to show you in particular is my gift from Emily. She drew Honey & Harvey for me! She's an artist for a living & a bloody good one I have to say! Please please please check out her website, her drawings are just fabulous.

James travelled down late Thursday evening from uni, so he came & joined us girls for pudding before we headed home. We were planning ice skating on Friday, but the roads were so flooded round my house, we wouldn't have got very far, so we had a lazy day, watching films & then went out for a Chinese in the evening.

Saturday I spent the afternoon with my girls. We went to the restaurant Bills, for proper afternoon tea. Something I've never done but always wanted too. It was actually lovely. We had endless cups of tea & cakes, plus finger sandwiches & a cheeky scone at the end.

Saturday night, we decided to hit the town. (This for me was exciting, as I hadn't actually been out out for over a year!) We went to Wabi, a local cocktail bar & then to the pub for a game of pool & drinks.

Finally, Sunday was a chilled family day. We had a buffet lunch with my Grandparents & a cheeky glass of champagne on the side. They also bought me the most beautiful cake.

I had the most fantastic few days & I want to say thankyou to everyone who made each day special. You're all amazing.

Hope you're all well lovelies : )

Collection Eyeshadow Pencils

Hello lovelies!

You might remember a few months back I posted about the new Collection Eyeshadow Pencils. Well, my love affair with them has continued into the new year, especially with the shade Vintage Blush. I used it so much I was left holding a very sorry looking pencil, so decided a re-purchase was in order. I also picked up the shade Vanilla Sky while I was in Boots, after all, it would have been rude not too. ; )

I went out for dinner for my friend's birthday the other night & wore Vanilla Sky. It looked so beautiful & shimmery, perfect for an evening out.

Have you tried any of these shades? I think they are such good value for money.

Revlon Colorstay

Hello lovelies!

Please tell me I'm not the only one who can't resist an offer in Boots? Especially when it involves lipsticks..

Revlon are currently offering a 2 for £10 on a range of their cosmetics. One of their latest products I've been dying to try is the Colorstay lipsticks. Considering they are usually £8.99 each, I couldn't resist picking up two for £10.

I chose Finale 095 & 005 Muse. Finale is an orangy red & Muse is a bright pink.

I wore Finale out to dinner last night for Kym's birthday. I always go for lipsticks with long staying power & contain a lot of moisture. Even in Summer, my lips are so dry, so in Winter I need even more help to keep them moisturised. I always tend to wear a lip balm under lipsticks regardless of the formula but I think this lipstick proved I didn't have to. It stayed on amazingly well too, I re-applied it after dinner but you could see it was still clearly on my lips despite eating & drinking.

Have any of you tried these yet?
I'm tempted to go back & get a few more shades while the offer is still on.. ; D

New Year, New Start

Good afternoon lovelies..

 & Happy New Year!

I can't believe we're in 2014, how quick did 2013 go?! I can't believe how much I've neglected my blog over December as well.. work has been crazy. I had 4 days off in the whole of December, including Christmas Day & Boxing Day. Just been so manic.

Anyway, how have you guys been?

I guess I better start with a quick catch-up.

Apart from being a very busy month, December was actually one of my favourites from last year. On the 22nd, I went up to the o2 with Cathy to see JLS perform at their penultimate show in London. It was fantastic (& quite emotional to say the least!) I've never gotten over how down to earth & lovely they are, just makes me admire them all the more.

Panto left work yesterday & along with it all the crew & cast for another year. So sad to see them go, work feels so quiet & empty without them all.

James flew back from Africa on the 22nd & we got to celebrate Christmas, New Year & his birthday together. Sadly, we were one of those families that had no electricity or heating from the Monday to Friday over Christmas & then to make matters worse, we lost water for a day as well. As awful as that sounds, it just made Christmas even more special as we all came together as a family. On the upside, we got the most exciting present from James' Mum, tickets on the Eurostar to Paris! We wanted to go early December for our anniversary, but with Christmas expense we decided to delay it. All we need to do now is pay for the hotel. So excited : D

Oh & we've also jumped on the band wagon of dieting for the New Year. James returned to uni yesterday so it's pretty hard to motivate each other being so far apart, but we're determined to stick with it. We've both been using the app called My Fitness Pal, which so far has been amazing. It's got a database of over 3 million foods & it's so easy to record what you consume by simply scanning the barcode on the product. Have any of you used it? Or have any dieting tips?

So my lovelies, that's what's been happening with me!
Here's a few extra snaps from December. Hope you're all well : )
