I'm Flying Hiiiiiigh!

Hey girlies! So, if this post is scheduled right, I should be flying to Spain right now! (You're probably bored of how much I've been chatting about it over the past two weeks, sad isn't it!) But don't worry, you will now have the pleasure of six beautiful bloggers that will take over my blog to guest post, while I'm away. So, be prepared for a mix of posts, from some old & new bloggers. Yay. : D

Other than that, all I can say is, chat to you all in two weeks! I'm so sorry I could only catch up with a few of you before I left, but when I get back, I'm gonna spend a whole day chillin' out & reading all of your posts. Sounds good doesn't it? : )

So yeah.. BYEEE EVERYONEEE!
See you all soon. : )

London Science Museum

Hello girls. : )

Here's a few pics from the other day when I went with Gords to the Science Museum in London. : )

This was amazing. It was a large world that rotated & changed colours to show climate change.

Neil Armstrong. : )

This train was called Puffing Billy. How cute is that. : )

This dress was made entirely of Metro newspapers! : )

This was so hard to take a picture of without any children playing on it. (Or Gordon for that matter). It's a animated floor. When you stepped on it, it rippled like real water & the fish went mad! : )

This is probably the hardest thing to explain. It was a black wall with little lights on & it was "The sound of the internet". It was actually the highlight of our day. Imagine a robot voice reading out random phrases from a dating chat room. This is basically what was happening, but it wasn't monitored, so anything could come out. The best one "I like my nipples bitten". Hahaha, how immature are we?! So funny to see parents running to put their hands over their kids ears & rushing them out the room!

I love this clock. It was hanging on a wall & everytime a second went by, it moved it's little legs & turned the clock. I can see why you'd be freaked out if you're not a fan of creepy crawlies, but this was awesome. : )

Anyway, I've now sorted all the guest posts out, thankyou to everyone who sent me one! They'll be posted over the next two weeks while I'm away. 2 days! I'm so excited. Hope you're all well. : )

Update #2

Image from we heart it

Evening lovelies. : )

It's only 4 days till I go on holiday now! Eeee! I actually can't contain my excitement. This picture just made me squee, I can't wait to spend long, hot, sunny days laying on the beach. I think I've got all my clothes & stuff sorted, just not packed anything yet. This will only be my second time flying, so I'm quite nervous. Oh & remember, if you want to guest post for me, you only have till tomorrow to send me your posts! E-mail me them to this address: pink.marmite@gmail.com

& I want to say a huge thankyou to Rach, from So, hi, who featured me on her blog a couple of days ago in this post. If you aren't already a follower of hers, go check her out. She's doing a guest post for me while I'm away over the next two weeks too, so make sure you read that one as well.

My boyfriend & I finally made it to the Science Museum on Wednesday & we had such a good day. There was so much random stuff there, it was amazing. (Being the boy he is, he had to race the children to each button & press it while having his face pressed up against the glass to see what was happening by pressing said button). So funny to watch. : )

I'm off out tonight to the pub with my friends. The only part of my outfit I've got sorted is my shoes. My new black wedges are coming out for their first night out! I feel like a parent dropping their kid off at school on the first day! So excited, but scared for them too. If anyone spills a drop of alcohol on them, I will scream. LOUD. : D

Hope you're all well, I know I'm terrible at keeping up with all your blogs at the moment, but I promise I'll go through them all before I go on holiday. Make sure you check out Bethany's giveaway too, she is such an amazing girl & has the most beautiful style. : )

Hope you're having a good week. : )

NOTW #3

Morning girls!

If you read my previous post, you'll know I went to an animal-themed party at the weekend, so I thought I'd show you my nails to match.

I did the spots on my left hand & my mum did my right. My left hand is so shockingly bad, I find it hard to paint just one colour on my right hand. -sigh-

The black is Barry M & the orange is Collection 2000.

My boy & I are going to try & finally make it to the Science Museum again tomorrow. This is like.. the 4th try!? Hahaha. Last time we cancelled because of the riots, so fingers crossed nothing will go wrong tomorrow!

We went & saw the Inbetweeners movie on Sunday night. Oh my gosh, it was so funny! Some very typical "guy" humour in it, but mostly just awesome 'laugh out loud' moments. Definitely one to see if you enjoy the tv series.

Oh & if you'd like to guest post on my blog while I'm on holiday, there's still time! Check this post to get involved. : )

I'm Seeing Spots & Other Weird Things..

So last night I went to my friend's joint birthday party. I don't want to overload you with photos, but here's a few snaps from the night. Oh & yes, it was fancy dress in case you're wondering.. (Jungle & Savanna theme)

Warning - the following photos contain large amounts of alcohol & animal-y behaviour.

Myself, Pete & Leia

Nim, Leia & Myself

Gemma & Myself

My outfit: Dress - Select, Cardi, Shoes & Headband - Primark, Leggins - Next

I had the most amazing night, slight headache today, but so worth it. You can't see in these photos, but my dress has a gorgeous peter pan collar round the neck, love it so much & only £6!

I'm seeing the Inbetweeners Movie tonight, anyone seen it yet & have any reviews? I've heard it's amazingly funny, just hope we don't have any annoying "15 year olds" sitting next to us. Urgh.

I'm sorry I haven't caught up on all your blogs much this week, I'm hoping to get round to it tomorrow or Tuesday. Hope you're all well. : )

You Can't Beat A Big, Red, Knitted, Over-Sized Jumper

"Dice" nails - rawwwr! (Both colours - Barry M)
You know those photos that come out all blurry, taken from the wrong angle & end up being discarded? Well this would usually be one of them. But I can't seem to delete it, so I've decided to post it regardless of it's faults. : )

I went shopping to Guildford today & bought some gorgeous wedges I've been lusting over for ages from New Look & a few bits & pieces from Primark. I'll do a haul post soon, but my dinner is nearly ready & I'm a little sleepy.

I'm currently curled up in my over-sized jumper as you can see. Nothing beats coming in from a hard day shopping & snuggling up in your favourite jumper. Total bliss. : )

MUA Mini Haul

Afternooooon girls! : D

Thought I'd show you some of the recent cosmetic products I picked up from MUA recently. I used to be one of those people that thought because it's cheap, it's got to be rubbish, but after going into Superdrug one day, picking up a blusher from a cosmetic stand, seeing the price & digging in my purse to only find £1, I decided to give MUA a go. (I didn't really have much choice if I wanted to buy a blusher that day!)

So here are the products I got, 3 eye shadows, a blusher & a pressed powder. (total of £5!)

Shade 2 - Pearl

Shade 3 - Pearl

Shade 20 - Matt

Left to right - Shade 2 pearl, Shade 3 pearl, Shade 20 matt

When I go on nights out, I'm very into the 'smokey eye' look. In the day, I go for more neutral colours for eye shadows, usually a brown or a cream. But I love to make my eyes stand out at night with blacks, silvers & greys. These three colours I'll use together (starting from the corners of my eyes with the lighter colours & working my way out to the sides using the grey & black). If you'd like a tutorial on the way I do my 'smokey eye' look, let me know!

The blusher is just for an everyday look, just to highlight the cheekbones. I love blusher, I think it can really brighten up your face & make it almost more feminine.

The pressed power is just to go over my foundation. (I use a liquid one so it sets it & makes my face less shiny!)

I also bought three Pout Paints that I'll do a review on in the coming weeks. I've only worn the 'Pin Up' shade, which is a very dark red & I loved it but it totally shocked me how pigmented the colour actually is!

Sooo, I've got a pretty jam-packed week again. Work this afternoon / evening, same tomorrow in the day, off Wednesday (going shopping in Guildford to buy Pete a monkey onesie for the animal party we're going to on Saturday!) Thursday, Friday & Saturday daytime I have work, then Cathy & Mils' birthday party in the evening. I'm majorly excited about this, it's a fancy dress with the theme jungle & savanna. I'm going as a leopard, not the most original idea, but I bought a gorgeous leopard print dress the other day from Select, it's got a gorgeous peter pan collar & is really fitted. I would show you, but I'm 'show-casing' it on Saturday! I'm sure there will be tons of photos from the evening anyway!

Ahh yes! Last thing to say is, I'm still looking for guest bloggers to post while I'm away next month. If you want more details or are interested, read this post to get involved. : D

A Few Bits Here & There..

Hello girls. How are you all? : )

How annoying is it when you buy something, go back into the same shop the next day & find the item you bought, at full price, has now moved to the sale section & is half price. Urgh.

ANYWAY, what do you think of these gorgeous items:

Gold bow ring - £4 (even though technically it's in the sale now for £2!)

Feather necklace - £2

Feather necklace - £2 (down from £10!)

These were all from Dorothy Perkins. I absolutely love the black & gold feather necklace, I've seen some people's hauls on youtube showing some feather earrings from Primark that would match this perfectly. Also the price! £2!

I've got a meal tomorrow night with my girls to celebrate Lorna's birthday, haven't decided what to wear yet, kinda depends on the weather to be honest. I've got a beautiful Summer dress waiting to be worn but it's just not warm enough. :(

Hope you've all had a good week, any plans for the weekend? : D

Silver Cross Earrings

Morning girls. : )

Just want to show you these gorgeous silver cross earrings I got from Coley, her blog is simply beautiful & so are the items in her shop, so go have a look now if you don't already follow her. She's currently on holiday at the moment (lucky thing!) so if you order anything, remember she won't be able to send it to you for 2 weeks.

So here's my gorgeous new earrings:

The packaging is simply adorable.

I can't wait to wear them tomorrow!

So yeah, I planned to go to London yesterday with my boy (to the Science Museum) but of course, with the recent events taking place, we didn't think it was safe to go, so we ventured to Littlehampton instead & found this gorgeous little pet shop, munched on chips & watched families crabbing on the pier. It was nice & warm too, so we sat & had an ice cream in the car on the way.

How's everyone's week going? I'm still looking for guest bloggers while I'm away, so please check out this post if you're interested. : D

23 Days...

..till I jet off to Spain for 2 weeks!

I am SO excited. Ok, I need to tell you a little story so you'll hopefully understand my excitement a little more.. (if you don't want to read my rambling, skip down to the end.. there is a point to this post!)

Until last year, I'd never been out of the country. Yes, it's true. I'd never flown or been abroad & the most North of the UK I'd been was Staffordshire. (About half way up the map of the UK & I live at the bottom) I'd been with my boyfriend for a year last Spring, so we discussed going on holiday together in the Summer. Gords' Dad had recently retired & moved to Spain, so he suggested we go visit & stay with him for a week during September. We worked out it would probably be the cheapest & most affordable holiday to do, as we wouldn't have to pay for accommodation, just some money towards food. I was so excited & got my passport sorted within the next week, went for my interview to prove I was me & we booked our flights. I have to say it was the most amazing holiday I've been on. Not just because I got to spend it with my boyfriend, but because it was the first holiday I'd got to totally relax in a hot country. I got to experience a whole new language (I studied Spanish for 5 years at secondary school, that doesn't mean to say I remember alot of it..), to fly in a plane, try new foods & sunbathe all day! I'm kind of used to going on walking holidays with my parents, they're more into the whole 'doing stuff' on holiday than relaxing, so it was nice for a change!

Anyway, so this year we're going back to visit Gords' Dad, but for 2 weeks instead of 8 days! Yayyy. I get to fly again, sunbathe on the beach & spend time with my boy before he goes back to uni in September & our seeing each other goes down to once every 3 weeks / month at a time. : (

RIGHT, on to the actual point of this post!

While I'm away for 2 weeks I need to keep my blog up & running as much as possible (without being here). I'm not taking my laptop with me so I need some guest bloggers please! I would love some of you to post on my blog & the post can be what ever you want it to be about. If you want some ideas, maybe start with the basics: introduction, outfit post, you're favourite things you love? I know I know, I'm crap at topics so I'm leaving it up to you!

I'd need all the posts by Sunday 28th August so I can set them up for when I go away on 31st August. So if you'd like to be a guest blogger on my blog, please send me your blog posts (by e-mail) pink-marmite@gmail.com with your name, blog link & with any additional pictures or links included. I'll let you know by 28th if your post will be appearing over the 2 weeks. I'd love for you all to get involved, even if you've just started blogging. : D

If you've got any questions, leave them in a comment below or e-mail me. Thaaanks girls! : D

Antelopes..

Earrings - £1 Primark.
How cute are they!? & total bargain if I do say so myself. ; )

I actually originally thought these earrings were deer, but after some studying & people staring at my ears to see what they were, we all decided they're antelopes! : D

It was Cathy's birthday yesterday, so we went to the pub to celebrate in the evening. I'm really struggling for evening outfits recently. I think it's because of the weather. Ok, I know I should be able to adapt to the weather (I am from England - haha!) I should be used to the weather changing it's mind 3 / 4 times a day, but I can never decide. Tights, no tights. Heels, no heels. Dress, skirt, shirt, top.. argh the list goes on. Maybe it's just me being indecisive. Please tell me I'm not the only one who changes their outfit about 3 times before going on a night out?!

Anyway, haven't got too much planned this week accept work, hopefully going to the science museum with the boy on Wednesday. (We've been saying we'll go every Wednesday for the past few weeks so hopefully we actually will this week!) Hope you're all well. : )

Bakin' With My Girl

Yesterday, I made a cake.
A lemon, honey & coconut cake.
With Cathy. : )

Here's the ingredients list in case you want to make it:

- 120g white rice flour
- 4 eggs
- 80ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 260g honey
85g dessicated coconut (some extra if you want to sprinkle it over the top for decoration)
- 1 tablespoon natural vanilla extract
- 375ml soya milk
- 60g of melted butter

Right so.. this is probably the easiest recipe to follow.. ever. : )

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180 C / Gas mark 4.

Step 2: Throw all the ingredients into a bowl & mix:

First the flour

Add the honey

The 4 eggs next

Then the lemon juice

The milk

The coconut

Then the butter

& finally the vanilla extract

Then stir the mixture till it combines

Pour the mixture into a tin & put it in the over for 50mins - 1 hour

We might have slightly burnt the cake..

Now, the recipe said bake the cake for an hour, ours got slightly burnt so I'd suggest maybe a little less time & keep your eye on it cooking! It smelt so gorgeous when it came out, so lemony! : )

Hope your all well & having a good day. : )

Yesterday #2

£2 canvas - charity shop

Evening girls. : )

I got this little canvas about a month ago from a local charity shop & it's now proudly pinned up on my bedroom wall. It's so cute, when I get my own house I'm definitely filling it with cute vintage items like this.

Had an amazing day yesterday. I  actually did a "follow me round" video but haven't had a chance to upload it yet. I went to Cathy's late afternoon, then swimming with Leia & then finally met up with the boys & went to the cinema & for a meal in Chiquitos. We saw Horrible Bosses (second time for me) & I laughed even more. Love that film so much.

Today I've spent with my boy, he's just gone to work for the evening so I'll be picking him up in a couple of hours time. I'm going to Cathy's tomorrow to bake some cakes. Yum yum. Hopefully I'll remember to take photos during us baking this time. I always remember once we've finished.. -sigh-

Omg found this girl's blog & she's amazing. Why did no one ever tell me about her before!? : D

If you don't already follow Zoella, do it now!
Oh & remember to enter Gentri Lee's gorgeous giveaways!

Tuesday, 2 August 2011

I'm literally SO excited..

So you might have seen my Blogger of the month award go to Gentri Lee last month, so you've probably guessed, I love her blog. She is now starting her first giveaway & I'm soooo excited!

Go enter now. : )

Her first prize looks amazing, I can't wait for tomorrows! ♥

Pointless..

Top - Primark / Necklace - Accessorize
& omg.. where's my arm!?

Helllllo girls. : )

Got such an awesome week planned. I hope it stays sunny. I'm waiting for Cathy to come round for our dog walk, but the sun has gone in & it's getting cloudy. Hopefully it'll still be warm when we go outside.

If you read yesterday's post, you'll know I was in a very productive mood. Shame that hasn't rolled over into today, but oh well. I've decided to eat alot more healthily (at least for a month!) & record what I eat each day. I'm hoping by making a record of it all I'll see how much crap I'm eating & can cut it out of my diet altogether.

Kind of a pointless post today - oh well.

Right Cathy should be here any second so I'm gonna scoot off & get the dogs ready. Yay the sun's coming back out! Hope you're all making the most of it girls. : )

NOTW #2

Today I broke a nail.
& not just any nail.
My thumb nail.

As this is the worst thing that's happened to me today, I'd have to say, today is a pretty awesome day!

I'm in such a weird mood.
I say weird.. but I kind of mean unusual.
I'm in a productive mood.
This never happens to me. (Well.. it does but not very often)

So far today I have:
  •  Found my old diary & started writing in it again.
  • Found my other diary that I use for important dates & written everything in it that I usually forget.
  • Weighed myself & sorted out a more healthy diet plan.
  • Cleaned my dressing table (makeup / jewellery needed sorting)
  • Swapped & cleaned my broken handbag for my new one.
  • & finally painted my nails a gorgeous blue.
  •
My nails are by Revlon. Colour 27 Lapis.

How beautiful is this colour?! I love it.

One of the girls from work gave it to me. It dryed so fast & had a gorgeous consistancy.

Right, I'm off to work. I should have left more time for blogging today, I've got tons more to write but no time! Hope you're all well girlies. : )
